Going Green

Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. All meals, foods and beverages are prepared and served by qualified child nutrition professionals. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.

School meals are free for both in school and remote learners until the end of the 2020-2021 school year!

We are offering FREE meals to ANY child age 0-21 on Wednesdays until the end of the 2020-2021 school year!

Meals can be picked up between 11:30-1:00 on Wednesdays at Silver Lake Regional Middle School or Kingston Elementary School, or 10:30-12:00 at Halifax Elementary.

To pick up a meal, simply arrive at the school during the designated pick up times and tell the worker how many children you have. You can then open the trunk or a side door from inside your vehicle, or roll down a window of an unoccupied seat in your vehicle and the worker will place the meals inside.

The meals will contain a “Main Entrée” item which usually is a Grain and/or Protein food, milk for each meal, and an assortment of fruits and vegetables.

Some foods provided are ready to eat, but some require some preparation at home. See Heat at Home instructions here: HEAT AT HOME INSTUCTIONS

Each meal we provide for children helps to support our School Meals Program, which enables us to continue to feed as many children as possible.

We look forward to serving you!

If you would like to pick up a meal, please follow the preordering instructions here:How to preorder grab and go.

This helps us to plan to prepare enough meals for the day, without having too many extra!
